Guest Colin Cooper returns to the show for another installment of our “Leadership in the Movies” series. This time, we’re heading back to 1985 to explore Back to the Future leadership lessons, unpacking the overall themes, wisdom, and character traits found in several of the main characters in this pop culture classic.
Colin’s become one of my favorite guests whenever we get to combine leadership with a healthy dose of pop culture. If you enjoy today’s conversation, you can also catch Colin in Episode 78 on leadership styles in Gladiator, Episode 65 on decision-making lessons from video games, and Episode 59 about about leading creative teams.
For those meeting Colin for the first time, he currently serves as the Photo and Video Team Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Before that, he spent five and a half years leading creative media at Ochsner Health in Louisiana. Earlier in his career, he worked in television and corporate video production, creating content for brands like Samsung, Showtime, Food Network, and Kroger.
